"I’ve always had a passion for books. As a child, I was reading before I entered kindergarten, and remember being called to read to the class. I read Little Bear, the first book in the series, originally published in 1957 by Else Holmelund Minarik. It was the first step into the world of books and the magic they create.

Naptime at my home was a daily ritual, and my mother would always read books to my sisters and I before our nap, and usually at bedtime as well. She understood the value of books and raising educated children, with reading being the path to opening our creative minds and exploring the world. Mom would get frustrated with me, because she just wanted me to lie down and rest, but I would insist on seeing the words…not the pictures…the words. The visual learner in me developed a need to see the words on the page to fully grasp the concept.

The value I placed on the written word stayed with me throughout my life. I was always reading and writing creative stories; English was my favorite class (besides choir!). I even won a short story contest in high school, with an article and my photo in the local newspaper celebrating my achievement. Today, my passion goes deeper, by helping others tell their stories and empowering authors to publish quality books. I’ve always said, “if you’re going to do it, do it right the first time.” By keeping with this mantra, authors have the opportunity to take their book to market and be proud of the work they’ve accomplished.

In today’s world of technology, we get to take it to the next level, where books are the gateway to creating a movement. Whether a book helps an author heal trauma or raises awareness for a global crisis, books are the foundation for creating a ripple effect to creating community. My job is to honor and empower storytellers to be a part of the global conversation. And when the book’s message matches your business’ mission, you now have what I call 'Business Ascension.'"
